When our area is under threat of a hurricane, St. Anthony's highest priority is to ensure the health and safety of our patients, team members and physicians.
Depending on the severity of the weather, it may be necessary for St. Anthony's to restrict public access to our facilities to ensure adequate safety of our patients, staff and supplies.
If a hurricane is threatening our area within the next 24-48 hours:
- and you have a loved one admitted to our hospital, we will discuss options with you and inform you of our policies and procedures regarding staying with your loved one.
- all appointments for non-critical outpatient procedures, surgeries or tests may be cancelled. Our scheduling department or your doctor's office will contact you to re-schedule your appointment after the storm.
- If you have a loved one who was evacuated to our hospital from another health care facility, we will work closely with the other facility to ensure you are informed of your loved one's location and status. Staff from the evacuating facility will be at our hospital with your loved one to ensure continuity of care.
St. Anthony's is NOT a community storm shelter facility
In order to ensure our ability to focus on patient care, we are unable to provide a safe haven to the general public during a storm. To find a shelter near you, please visit the links below. We encourage everyone in the community to place ultimate importance upon their health and safety and not take any risk of riding out a storm if you are asked to evacuate.
