Suncoast Medical Clinic Building Construction

Suncoast Medical Clinic Building Construction

As. St. Anthony’s plans to open its new Emergency Center and Patient Care Tower, a new construction project is beginning that is expected to expand access to medical care for the St. Petersburg community. In May, Suncoast Medical Clinic and St. Anthony’s Healthcare announced a new affiliation to create a closer collaboration that offers patients a seamless transition between different levels of care and services. Although St. Anthony’s and Suncoast have worked informally together for years, this affiliation is intended to enhance patient care coordination and improve quality of care. The affiliation became official in August 2011 and now construction has begun on a new Suncoast Medical Clinic on the St. Anthony’s campus.

  • Approximately 105,000 sq.-ft-medical office complex

  • Three stories

  • Offices for Suncoast Medical Clinic Physicians (approximately 45 physicians)

  • Physicians expected include primary care, cardiology, general surgery, gastroenterology, vascular surgery, neurology, dermatology, nephrology, allergy, urology, infectious disease, pulmonology, rheumatology, pain management and endocrinology

  • Plans call for BayCare Lab and BayCare Outpatient Imaging to move into the new building

  • Amenities are excepted to include a coffee bar

  • Six-story parking garage planned with approximately 800 parking spaces

  • Covered bridge will connect parking garage to building

  • Current medical office building will be removed and those services are expected to mostly relocate into the new building

  • Suncoast Medical Clinic building will be located on the east side of the St. Anthony’s campus

  • Patients will access the parking garage from Jackson Street

  • Construction has begun and the building is planned to be completed by the end of 2012
