St. Anthony's Helps Athletes Power Up For Peak Performance|
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 23, 2012) – Most athletes know that hamburgers and french fries won’t help their bodies perform the way they should. But what foods are best to keep you in shape and in the game? Let the St. Anthony’s sports medicine experts help with nutrition and diet tips during “Fueling Your Body for Peak Performance and Nutrition,” a free sports medicine lecture on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 6 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Outpatient Center (Carillon), meeting rooms A and B.
Christie Achenbach, a registered dietician who specializes in sports dietetics, will discuss the importance of proper nutrition to ensure that athletes perform at their best. Steven Masley, MD, will be on hand to provide a physician’s perspective on the role that nutrition plays in obtaining top sports performance.
