St. Anthony’s Sports Medicine Experts Help Athletes Avoid Injury, Enhance Performance

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Aug. 2, 2012) St. Anthony’s Hospital sports medicine experts will share tips on how athletes can avoid injury and enhance their performance on the athletic field during the free lecture, “Sports Conditioning and Performance Enhancement,” on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Carillon Outpatient Center.

Christopher Salud, MD, who specializes in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, will discuss injury prevention and staying healthy during your sports season, as well as what every athlete should know about performance enhancement. Learn how to avoid common injuries and appropriate ways to enhance performance. Dr. Salud also will provide information on the NCAA and how high school and college athletes can reach their goals. Luke Chichetto, a former coaching staff member for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Texas Rangers, will tell which aerobic, muscular strength and flexibility activities should be included for a well-rounded training program that will promote success.
