See the Action Up Close by Volunteering at the 30th Anniversary St. Anthony's Triathlon

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla, (April 12, 2013) – Join the excitement of the 30th Anniversary St. Anthony’s Triathlon by becoming a volunteer during the race weekend, April 26-28. With approximately 3,500 athletes and 125 relay teams expected, volunteers are needed in a variety of roles to help the athletes make it to the Vinoy Park finish line.

Organizers are seeking more than 1,000 volunteers to work in a number of areas, such as athlete check-in, timing chip distribution, body marking, course marshals, water station and merchandise sales to help make the Triathlon weekend a success. Volunteers are needed at the two-day St. Anthony’s Sports and Fitness Expo on April 26-27; the Meek & Mighty Triathlon on April 27; and at the main Triathlon on April 28.

Volunteers receive a commemorative race T-shirt and access to the volunteer hospitality tent. Act quickly to get preferred assignments. Sign up online at SATriathlon.com/volunteers. When registering online, provide name, email address, availability, volunteer area of interest and T-shirt size. Volunteers who are younger than age 18 must have parental approval to participate. Volunteer schedules, directions and parking instructions will be distributed before the race.

Groups, such as schools, clubs, churches and other not-for-profit organizations are invited to participate as a team by volunteering together at a water station or other location.
