St. Anthony's Foundation Goes 'Over the Edge' for Fundraiser

St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation Over the Edge Fundraising Event

St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation is participating in an Over the Edge fundraising event. Over the Edge sends participants who have raised pledges rappelling down an office building as a fundraiser for non-profits.

Saturday, August 17, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

One Progress Plaza

200 Central Ave.

St. Petersburg, FL (Downtown)

Participants have the opportunity to channel their inner “Spiderman” and rappel down the side of the 28-story building at One Progress Plaza in downtown St. Petersburg. One Progress Plaza is said to be the tallest building in Pinellas County at 386 feet.

Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 for the St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation. The Foundation has designated funds for this event to benefit the hospital’s Sports Medicine programs featuring the Concussion Prevention and Management initiative for student athletes.

The event is coordinated by Over the Edge, a special events company that provides signature events for non-profit organizations.

Every Over The Edge event is set up as an industrial worksite to be compliant with all federal and state OSHA Fall Protection Standards and OSHA Federal and State Laws. The ropes technicians have received training through the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians, a group formed in the 1990s to develop industry standards for rope access techniques in North America.
