St. Anthony’s Triathlon Needs Volunteers for Three Races

Community Invited to Be Part of the Action, April 25-27

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., (April 7, 2014) – St. Anthony’s Triathlon organizers are looking for approximately 1,000 volunteers to be part of an exciting world class triathlon event held in downtown St. Petersburg and help with the weekend lineup of races that attract approximately 3,500 athletes and 125 relay teams during race weekend, April 25-27.
Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles to help the athletes get ready to race and make it to the finish lines by helping with athlete check-in, timing chip distribution, body marking, course marshals, water station and merchandise sales. Volunteers will work at the two-day St. Anthony’s Sports and Fitness Expo on April 25-26; the Meek & Mighty Triathlon on April 26; and at the main Triathlon international distance race and sprint distance race on April 27.

Volunteers are greatly appreciated and will receive a commemorative race T-shirt and access to the volunteer hospitality tent. Sign up online at www.satriathlon.com under Volunteers tab and provide a name, email address, availability, volunteer area of interest and T-shirt size, or call: (813) 420-7815. Act fast to get preferred assignments. Volunteers who are younger than age 18 must have parental approval to participate. Volunteer schedules, directions and parking instructions will be distributed before the race.

Groups, such as schools, clubs, churches and other not-for-profit organizations are invited to participate as a “volunteer team” and work together at a water station or other location. For more information on group volunteer opportunities, please call (813) 420-7815.
